Conqueror of Fansipan 6 days

Day 1: Hanoi - Sapa (L,D)

From Hanoi, take an overland trip for a picturesque day's journey to Sapa in the far Northwest corner of Vietnam.

 A Stopover will be made at Yen Bai for lunch en route to visit Black Dao and Flower H'mong villages.

Late afternoon you will arrive in Lao Cai, the busy border town, from which you can gaze across the Red River to Hekou town in China. From Lao Cai the road winds uphill to Sapa, a former French hill resort and home to some of Vietnam's most colorful ethnic groups. Transfer to hotel and overnight in Sapa.

Day 2: Sapa - Forest camp (B,L,D)

Wake up for an early start for the first day's climb through the H'mong village near Cat Cat stream and cross the Linh Ho River to a bamboo village before reaching the forest. Pitch camp at an elevation of 2,200m in the forest. The evening meal is prepared by the cook around a camp fire while the nocturnal sounds of the forest provide an exotic background. Overnight at the Forest camp. 

Day 3: Forest camp - Base camp (B,L,D)

After breakfast continue onwards to an elevation of 2,400m where the forest gives way to huge groves of bamboo and up to a ridge at 2,900m which offers breath-taking views over the Sapa valley. Descending from a porter’s ridge set up camp at 2,400m, this will be your scenic camp home for the next two nights. Overnight at the Base Camp.

Day 4: Base camp - Fansipan peak  (B,L,D)

Break camp after an early breakfast and start the final ascent reaching the summit 3,143m above sea-level. Congratulations, you’ve arrived! From this, the highest point of Vietnam there are stunning views of China to the North and Laos to the West. There is time for a well-earned rest before descending back down to Base Camp for the night. Overnight at the Base Camp.

Day 5: Base camp - Sapa (B,L,D)

Enjoy the morning coffee and the sounds of nature as our friendly porters break down the camp and leave for Sapa. Trekking back down across well-known terrain always goes more quickly and our arrival time back in Sapa should be late afternoon. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 6: Sapa - Hanoi  (B,L)

After breakfast, back to Hanoi via Lao Cai and Yen Bai.
