anti malaria treatments in the region in which you will be traveling.
Inoculation for yellow fever is not necessary although some doctors still
recommend it.
While the main city of Vientiane has good hospitals staffed with foreign
medical personnel, in Luang Prabang and Pakse there are only local medical
staff

generally not spicy but make use of a wide array of interesting sauces. Main
cities now offer an increasing growing selection of international
restaurants.

Although Laos is still under
development, you can find all kinds of products often imported from
Thailand. There is however a strong tradition of cotton and silk weaving.
Beautiful fabrics and manufactured products can be found. Prices displayed
are usually fixed, but in other cases do not hesitate to bargain.

ensure your passport will be valid for at least 6 months after your return
